Midwives:

Initially Yvonne gave me this book back as she could not ‘read’ it.
I said – ‘you are not meant to – it is a glove box manual for dads’.
I suggested that she give it to the next dad and get him to show her.
Sure enough – she came back AMAZED! ‘How did you do that? He knew just what to do?’

“Yes” –  I said – years of watching dads at births being marginalised – sitting in a corner

BUT –

He is centre stage – her ‘epidural’ Her champion!’

She now says . .

‘Heather’s manual gives the couple a sense of empowerment. There is always a reason behind things happening and whilst my training may say otherwise, whenever I have a couple use her work, often apparently ‘high risk’ problems always reduce, leaving the birth a more likely natural event. The pelvic opening massage and the use of moxa has revolutionized the way labour plays out for those especially previously plagued with structural pain and inability to sleep comfortably’. Yvonne, Queensland

‘I was gifted WDCD by a couple, who had just had such a wonderful pregnancy and birth, so very different from the last two, that they wanted to share it with all as they had finished having their own children’. Ruth, NZ

‘Births are now so much shorter and more efficient – when dad does the work before hand. Whenever we are stuck in transition – I just hit into Bl 35 and the baby comes soon after wards – this is in addition to all the special help these moves give through out the labour’. – Sheryl , NZ
